Smart Search module (mod_finder) is not showing the search icon in the correct alignment

Using Blank template BS3.

When I enable the search icon to appear at the left or right of the search field, it appears above or below the field. It does not align correctly.

I noticed that there is already a template override for mod_finder in the Blank Template already. Do you think there is an error in the code?
