Is it possible to have one column which spanns all rows possible?

I'm looking for template style which allows homepages like this one: http://isolde-werst.de/

My customer likes the idea to have one single "piece" or "column" on the left side, just displaying a picture and some text.
I was wondering if such an style would be possible with T3?
